The 10-km Ameerpet-Hitec City Metro Rail service will become operational from March 20.

The service will be flagged off from the Ameerpet station by Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan in the morning.

With the Hitec City Metro Rail station not having a reverse facility, the trains will be operated in the ‘twin single line method’.

The two tracks are treated as two separate single lines and trains are operated in both ‘up’ and ‘down’ directions on each line separately.

L&T Metro Rail will have additional volunteers at the stations to guide passengers as this will be confusing and different from what is available on the other stretches. Announcements will be made for a few days till commuters understand the single line system. The three stations of Jubilee Hills Check Post, Peddammagudi and Madhapur, covering 5 km, will not be opened to the public at this stage, said Mr N.V.S Reddy, managing director, Hyderabad Metro Rail.

Till that is completed the three stations will not be made operational. We will see the response and accordingly decide once the rest of the service starts.
