Hyderabad has something colourful and vibrant to look forward to with the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) planning a first-of-its-kind dance festival.
Titled ‘Hyderabad Dance Festival’, the event will be held from April 3 to April 11 and will have panel discussions, workshops and performances, engaging professionals, enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.
“Hyderabad has always been at the forefront of the performing arts. Sham-E-Hyderabad is one such event in which dancers of repute – Padmashri and Sangeet Natak Akademi awardees – will be performing for
the people,” said Arvind Kumar, the Municipal Commissioner, HMDA.
Actress Faria Abdullah of Jathirathnalu fame addressed the media on behalf of the festival and encouraged dance enthusiasts to participate in the workshops either live or online.
The organisers have been conducting flash mobs at various locations in the city, to promote the festival. Being conducted with strict adherence to Covid-19 protocols, the festival will also be broadcast live, to ensure global reach.
