Holy month of Ramzan begins

The Holy Month of Ramzan began on Wednesday night after Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee confirmed it, following sighting of crescent in Tamil Nadu. This would be the first time in several years that Ramzan starts at the same time throughout the world.  

The Central Ruiyat-e-Hilal Committee announced that the Holy Month of Ramzan has begun



and the first Roza (fasting) will be observed on Thursday. 

Later during the evening, Hilal Committee president Syed Mohammed Qubul Pasha Quadri Shuttari gave the official declaration after the religious Ulema (learned men) met at Hussaini Building in Moazzam Jahi Market in Hyderabad.
