Home Minister, Nayani Narasimha Reddy on Friday said that all out efforts are being made to ensure that Vinayaka Chaturthi festival and idol immersion procession are held peacefully and on a grand scale in the city.
The Home Minister urged the members of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samithi to cooperate with officials from government departments so that the festival passes off without any untoward incident.While reviewing the preparations for Ganesh festival with officials from various departments, Reddy said that to ensure incident-free Ganesh festival, the government has decided to rope-in close to 35,000 police personnel.
For the idol immersion, the authorities will be
providing 71 static and 70 mobile cranes at various locations in the city and special focus will be given to provide sufficient barricades at the immersion points, taking up road repairs along the procession route, laying new approach roads and providing mobile toilets.
In the review meeting, the Home Minister urged the Ganesh Utsav Samithi members to ensure that the immersion procession of Khairatabad Ganesh idol starts on time. On the immersion day, authorities will be providing 30 lakh water packets and 500 additional RTC buses for devotees visiting various immersion points in Hyderabad. Senior officials from several departments were present at the review meeting.
