The Telangana Housing Board (THB) took back possession of 40 acres prime land in survey number 1009/1 at Kukatpally from M/s SITCO (IJM (India) Infrastructure Limited).

Following instructions from the Board’s Vice-Chairman and Housing Commissioner Chitra Ramchandran, a team led by Land Acquisition Officer K Venkateswarlu, took physical possession of the land. The land is now under the control of THB and signboards were set up declaring the same, according to a press release.

In 2003, the then Andhra Pradesh Housing Board entered into an agreement with IJM (India) Infrastructure Limited for jointly developing an integrated township in an area spread across 34.71 acres forming part of Sy.No.1009/1 in Kukatpally, Ranga Reddy District.

Further, the Board, during its 485th board meeting on May 20, 2003, resolved to accord permission to the company for temporary use of

40 acres of open land for carrying out its construction activity associated with the development of the integrated township.

This temporary period was allowed for three years, duly collecting user charges of Rs 10 lakh payable in suitable installments from the developer. The 40 acres vacant land in survey number 1009/1 is adjacent to the 34.71 acres already allotted to IJM (India) Infrastructure Limited for jointly developing the integrated township.

Recently, during a review meeting, it came to notice that 40 acres was still under the possession of M/s SITCO (IJM (India) Infrastructure Limited). This is even after completion of the lease period. The Vice Chairman and Housing Commissioner instructed the officials to take back possession of the land. Following the prompt action by the officials in getting back the prime property, the team was felicitated by Chitra Ramchandran, the release added.
