Hyderabad district election authority staff are visiting the houses of senior citizens and of persons with physical disabilities (PwD) to arrange for them to vote via the postal ballot.

The 15 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad district have 83,588 senior citizens aged above 80 years and PwD voters. The staff is handing Form 12-D to facilitate the postal ballot.

As per ECI guidelines, once the elector opts for the postal ballot, the person will not be



allowed to physically vote in the polling station.

Besides, to increase the polling percentage, the DEA is distributing pamphlets to people and pasting ‘Proud to be a voter’ stickers on gates of houses.

The polling staff also distributed pamphlets with ‘recheck your vote in the voter helpline app’ printed on it.  The polling date and voter helpline number 1950 was also  mentioned.
