On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Hyderabad city police organised a run at the Necklace Road on Sunday.
Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali flagged off the run in which around 5,000 women – students, homemakers and working women – participated. The run ‘Gender Equality Run’ was held for 2k and 5k runs.
Hyderabad Commissioner of Police, C V Anand said that due to Covid pandemic in the last two years the
run could not be organized by the city police. Women from diverse fields participated in the run with enthusiasm.
“Telangana police prioritize the women safety and as part of it ‘She Teams’ were also launched. Hyderabad has become the safest city in India for women due to the efforts of the city police,” he said.
After the event the winners were presented certificates and medals.
