Hyderabad Customs has destroyed various Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances weighing over 8946 kgs worth over 295 crore rupees. They were seized by the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence, Hyderabad (DRI) and Hyderabad Customs on various counts. The activity took place as part of ‘Nasha Mukht Bharat Pakhwada’ and 'Say No to Drugs' campaign, on the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking.

release informed that the destruction included over 2655 Kgs of Cannabis, 11 Kgs of Heroin, over 409 Kgs of Alprazoalam and related materials, over 142 Kgs of Ephedrine Hydrochloride and related materials among others. Out of the above, 11 kgs of Heroin, valued over 77 crore rupees was seized last year from foreign nationals of Malawi, Tanzania and Angola at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad.
