Hyderabad and districts across Telangana State experienced intense heat on Saturday, with multiple locations recording maximum temperatures between 40 and 42 degree Celsius.

However, in a silver lining that offers respite from the dry heat conditions, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad in its forecast on Saturday evening issued an orange alert of heavy thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds in multiple districts across Telangana State, on April 3.

Based on Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) data, maximum day time temperatures at multiple locations in Hyderabad ranged between 40 degree Celsius and 41 degree Celsius on Saturday.

Hyderabad that witnessed intense heat on Saturday (between 8.30 am and 5 pm) and recorded temperatures of 40.2 degree Celsius are Rajiv Nagar Community Hall, Kapra circle, GHMC zonal office, Charminar, Jawahar Nagar Community Hall, Musheerabad, DEO office, RC Puram, Patancheru, CESS Khairatabad, according to TSDPS data.

Meanwhile, the IMD-Hyderabad issued a thunderstorms forecast (orange alert) on April 3 for isolated places in Adilabad, Kumuram Bheem Asifabad, Nirmal, Nizamabad and Kamareddy districts of Telangana. A yellow (moderate) alert involving thunderstorm accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places in Mancherial, Jagtial, Rajanna Sirisilla, Peddapalli and Medak districts, IMD-Hyderabad in its forecast said.
