Hyderabad Faces Severe Fog on Monday

Tue 26 Dec 2023, 10:51:09
Hyderabad experienced dense fog for the second consecutive day on Monday, causing visibility to plummet to 300 meters at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad. This marks the first instance of such low visibility this winter season.

Adverse weather conditions led to the diversion of two Hyderabad-bound Vistara flights – UK837 from Mumbai and UK897 from Bangalore – both returning to their respective departure stations due to poor visibility at Hyderabad airport.

At 8:30 am, the airport witnessed significantly reduced visibility, impacting daily commuters across the

city. Temperature readings in Hyderabad and its environs reflected the chilly conditions, with BHEL Factory recording 12.6 degrees Celsius, Moulali at 12.7 degrees Celsius, and Gachibowli at 13.4 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts the persistence of foggy conditions for the next five days in Hyderabad. Mornings are expected to be enveloped in fog and mist, giving way to a partly cloudy sky later in the day. The average minimum temperature during this period is anticipated to hover between 13 and 14 degrees Celsius.
