Early hints of the winter have set in the city with the mercury starting to plummet in different parts of the city, particularly the outskirts. The minimum temperatures in some parts of the suburbs have already dropped to 16 degree Celsius and 17 degree Celsius.

The first hints of winter could be from with early-morning temperatures dip and a light haze settles over the city. According to Dr. A. Shravani, a scientist with the India Meteorological Department in Hyderabad, the onset of winter is anticipated in early November.

“The winter onset is expected to be in the first week of November,” Dr. Shravani said, adding that Hyderabad will experience “hazy weather over the next two days due to changing atmospheric systems.”

While the weather will turn dry again afterward, a brief spell of light rain and cloudy skies is forecast for October 30 and 31 across Hyderabad and neighbouring districts.

Though the days remain bright and a bit sunny too, the late evening and early hours are when the



mercury is dropping down.

The city’s minimum temperatures reflected a cool start on Friday, with BHEL Factory recording the lowest at 16.7 degrees Celsius, followed by Quthbullapur at 17.5 degrees Celsius, Gachibowli at 17.8 degrees Celsius, Rajendranagar at 18.2 degrees Celsius, as per data from the Telangana State Development Planning Society.

According to weather experts, the daytime temperatures are expected to remain high, with maximum temperatures forecast to stay above 30 degrees Celsius for the next five days.

Minimum temperatures on Friday:

BHEL Factory: 16.7 degrees Celsius

Quthbullapur: 17.5 degrees Celsius

Gachibowli: 17.8 degrees Celsius

Rajendranagar: 18.2 degrees Celsius

West Marredpally: 18.6 degrees Celsius

Saroornagar: 18.7 degrees Celsius

Patancheruvu: 18.7 degrees Celsius

Lingampally: 19.1 degrees Celsius
