Hyderabad likely to face power cuts next week

Power distribution to the southern states by the National Thermal Power Corporation Talcher Stage II (eastern region) is facing disruptions and the state of Telangana is likely to face the heat as well. The power outage is due to overhaul by Power Grid Corporation of India Limited which will result in shutdown of 500kv High Voltage Direct Current.

Transco has put all discoms officials and operations wing officials on a high alert and asked them to monitor the power supply situation in the entire state for the next one week and minimize interruptions. “All possible steps are being taken to enhance our internal generations to meet the demand,” Transco chief D Prabhakar Rao said.
