The city may get daily water supply by year end if it gets bountiful rains this monsoon, municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) minister K Taraka Rama Rao said.

Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has taken up construction of 56 reservoirs and laying 1,800 km length water pipeline in 11 GHMC peripheral circles.
The HMWS&SB will complete 46 reservoirs by May , while the remaining might be ready by August September. Once these 56 reservoirs get commissioned, nearly 40 lakh people in the GHMC peripheral circles will benefit as the HMWS&SB might provide one lakh new connections.
