Hyderabad: With Hyderabad Metro Rail registering unprecedented rush since day one, Metro Rail authorities are now gearing up to levy penalties on passengers, who violate rules and to ensure that no untoward incident occurs.
Over 45,000 passengers took selfies aboard and on the metro station premises on the inaugural day and second day, and many were seen wandering in the stations for long which is not permitted.
Passengers will have to pay a fee of Rs 10 per hour, if they were found within Metro station premises for more than 90 minutes. Passengers have to board a train within 30 minutes after purchasing a token, which is valid only for the day issued.
The security
personnel already nabbed a few persons, who tried to board trains in an inebriated condition at Erragadda, ESI, Uppal, and Miyapur stations.
HMR Penalty
There have also been few cases, where passengers tried to exit the station carrying the tokens along with them. In some cases, a few passengers wanted to use the tokens on the next day, which was not permissible, said Metro Rail officials.
Passengers have to follow guidelines to avoid any inconvenience and end up paying penalties. The idea is to make passengers disciplined and cooperate with the security personnel. All this is being done in compliance with Metro Act, said a senior official from HMRL.
