The Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR), which is set to launch on November 28, are likely to take off with 18 trains. The number of trains, however, would be increased gradually depending on ridership.
Accordingly, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is making efforts to complete all construction works before commencing the commercial operations so that a comfortable journey can be offered to commuters.
A few Metros, which started off with a ridership of 45,000-50,000 a day,
today register an average of about 35,000 passengers a day, he said. “In Hyderabad, we want to ensure that the average ridership remains between 45,000 to 50,000 a day,” the official said.
HMR, meanwhile, is all set to be inaugurated on November 28, during the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the city for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, said Deputy Chief Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali while speaking at the Urban Mobility event here on Saturday.
