The Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities are expecting to cross yet another milestone within three months once the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety issues a safety certificate for stage-II (Miyapur-S R Nagar section).
This was indicated by the Hyderabad Metro Rail Managing Director N V S Reddy, who had an informal interaction with select media here on Monday. He said that by July 2017, 80 per cent of the Metro Rail works would be completed. Corridor-I (Miyapur-LB Nagar) would be totally completed and Corridor-III (Shilparamam to Nagole) would be almost completed.
“If we skip the inter-changing stations at Ameerpet and MGBS, Corridor-III can be completed,” said N V S Reddy. The stage one between Nagole to Mettuguda received safety certificate during March 2016. Regarding the Corridor-II, the MD said that the State government has not taken a decision on the project. “We have given designs and after confirmation from the government, the works would be started

in corridor-II,” NVS Reddy said.
The HMR MD said that there was no major bottleneck in the project works as land acquisition was almost completed except for the few small properties. He said that the acquisition of Padmahamsa apartment at Secunderabad was almost nearing as the court award was ready.
NVS Reddy said that the construction of Rail over bridges was going on smoothly. He said that the Bharatnagar and Chilkalguda rail over bridges were totally completed. He further said that Malakpet bridge would be completed by March 2017, Bhoiguda by September 2017, Alugaddabavi by September 2017, Oliphanta by February 2017, Begumpet by 2016.
The MD said that 55 out of 57 trains have already arrived and remaining two trains were in transit. Regarding the skyways proposed by the State government, the HMR MD said that they were working jointly with the officials. Since works are being taken up at Raidurg, the Metro Rail works are stopped.
