The Hyderabad City Police banned the use of the device without permission.
There will be a ban on para-gliders, remote-controlled drones and micro-light aircraft, the police said. Event organisers have been increasingly using remote-controlled drones to get aerial view for live telecasts and photography, police said.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner VV Srinivasa Rao on Tuesday said the department received inputs from Intelligence agencies about a possible breach of peace and disturbance of public tranquility. “There is also grave danger to human life, health, safety and damage to public property,” he said. Reasonable checks were being imposed on such anti-social activities to prevent any such attack in Hyderabad using remote-controlled devices, he
added.
The Commissioner under Section 144 of Criminal Procedure Code 1973 ordered that no flying activities of remote-controlled drones, para-gliders or other devices will be allowed in the Hyderabad City Police Commissionerate limits without police permission in writing. No non-government agency, organisation or individual will be allowed to launch unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) or unmanned aerial survey (UAS). Government agencies and organisations will have to get clearance from the local police and Aviation authorities before launching any UAS/UAV, he said.
The order will be under force for about a month — from March 8 to April 7 — and those violating it will be punished under Section 188 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, he said.
