The Hyderabad Police jointly with the HNEW team and the Nallakunta police busted an interstate drug peddling racket and arrested four persons for drug peddling on Tuesday. Officials seized 1380 grams of hydroponic marijuana, LSD blots, 2 bikes and other material worth Rs 1.4 crore.
The arrested persons are Harshvardan Shrivastava alias Harsh (30) from Madhya Pradesh and Srinivasa Rahul (30) from Chennai, both interstate drug peddlers, and Abhishek (26),a software employee and Dhawal, an architect, both from Secunderabad.
According to the police, Harshvardan Shrivastava sourced high-quality cannabis from the darknet marketplace “Dread Market” using encrypted platforms like Signal App. He
acted as a middleman, buying the drug at Rs 15,000 per ounce and selling it for Rs 25,000 through courier services. Payments were made via cryptocurrency and Hawala, funding his lavish lifestyle.
Srinivasa Rahul, initially consumed marijuana, but later became a transporter, sourcing it through Snapchat and supplying it to peddlers in Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad.
Abhishek an IIIT Raipur graduate procured the drug from Harshavardan via Signal App and sent money through hawala. He supplies drugs to Dawal in Secunderabad and other customers by hand at higher prices to earn easy money.
Following a tip-off, the drug racket was busted and narcotic substances were recovered.
