Hyderabad has recorded a significant improvement in terms of air quality during the past four years. As per the World Air Quality Report-2023, the Telangana capital city has shown an improvement in the air quality in 2023 when compared to the previous years from 2019.
The Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TS PCB) said, the data collated during the past four-year period shows the concentrations of particulate matter 10 micrometers
or less in diameter called ‘PM10’, in Hyderabad dropped down considerably. The PM10 recorded at 101 micrograms per cubic meter in the year 2019-20 has dropped to 83 micrograms per cubic meter in 2023-24.
A similar decline in the PM10 concentrations were registered in the surrounding Patancheru, Sangareddy while the values in Nalgonda kept fluctuating during the same period.
