The mercury levels saw a four degree drop on Friday, with maximum temperature slipping to 35.5 degree Celsius from 39 degree Celsius (recorded on Thursday). The minimum temperature too stood at 21.9 degree Celsius as against 26.9 degree Celsius.
According to IMD Hyderabad, incidents of hailstorm were reported at isolated places in districts of Hyderabad, Warangal and Jayasankar-Bhupalapally. Heavy rain occurred at places in Warangal.
According to IMD Hyderabad, the two cyclonic circulation systems over Vidarbha and north Odisha and the trough extending from Vidarbha to Lakshadweep had become less marked.
“While rain and thunderstorm will continue to lash isolated areas across all districts, mercury level is expected to rise gradually,” said Raja Rao, meteorologist, IMD, Hyderabad.
GHMC Incharge Commissioner Bharathi Holikeri informed that the corporation has been kept on alert in view of heavy rainfall warning with winds issued by the Metrological Department for the next 4-5 days.
He directed all the emergency teams, Vigilance & Disaster Management wing, all ZCs, DCs, to be alert and to take up all precautionary measures to tackle the emergency situation.
