The summer sun showed no signs of relenting and beat down with vengeance on the city on Monday, with the maximum temperature staying put at 42 degree Celsius, the same as on Sunday in Hyderabad.
The situation across the State was no different, with Adilabad and Nizamabad registering 44.3 and 44 degree Celsius respectively and Medak recording 43.4 degree Celsius.
The Indian Meteorological Department’s, warning issued for Monday was repeated for Tuesday as well, with heat wave conditions predicted to prevail in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Kamareddy, Medak, Jagityal, Rajanna Sircilla, Peddapally and
Mancherial.
However, thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds were likely in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Suryapet, Nalgonda, Mahabubabad and Warangal.
In Hyderabad, where the maximum temperature was two degrees above normal for this time of the year, saw the night temperature too touching 27.4 degree Celsius, which again was two degrees above normal.
The IMD forecast indicated that the situation was likely to remain the same for rest of the week. While the forecast said the maximum temperature would be around 41-42 degrees till May 2, it hinted at a slight drop to 40 degrees Celsius by the end of the week.
