The severe heat conditions returning to torment the Hyderabad city on Monday, with temperatures in several parts soaring beyond 42 degree Celsius.
According to the Telangana State Development Planning Society, Musheerabad recorded the highest temperature in the city at 42.4 degree Celsius, followed by Qutballapur (42.2 degree Celsius), Maithrivanam (42.1 degree Celsius) and Balanagar (41.8 degree Celsius).
On Sunday evening, several parts of the State capital witnessed thundershowers that brought respite from scorching temperatures. However, by Monday morning, the situation was
back to what it was before the showers.
Weather data from the India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Begumpet office put the maximum temperature at 40.2 degree Celsius, which was three degrees above normal while the minimum temperature soared by 4 degrees above normal and settled at 26.7 degree Celsius.
The IMD forecast shows that there would be partly cloudy skies with possibility of development of thunder and lightning with temperatures hovering between 40 degree Celsius to 41 degree Celsius over the next few days.
