Hyderabad records maximum 40 degree Celsius on Tuesday

Maximum temperatures in Hyderabad climbed back to above 40 degree Celsius on Tuesday, with Saroornagar recording 40.7ºC, Uppal 40.2ºC and Serilingampally 40.2ºC.

In the state, maximum temperatures neared 45ºC, with the highest maximum temperature of 44.8 ºC in Kumaram Bheem, 44.5 ºC in Karimnagar and Nalgonda at 44.1ºC.

As per the TS Development and Planning Society reports, severe heatwave was recorded in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Janagaon, Peddapalli, Siddipet, and Suryapet, whereas heatwave was reorded in Waranagl, Hanamkonda, Adilabad, Khammam, Jagtial, Karimnagar, Mulugu, Mancherial, Nalgonda, Nizamabad and Rajanna Sircilla districts.

The IMD has issued a



heatwave alert for the next two days in the state.

It has issued an orange alert for most of the districts as temperatures are very likely to increase in the range of 41ºC-44ºC in next two days and a heatwave alert for two more days.

Light to moderate rains or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places in the state in the next five days with mainly low-level Westerlies.

For the next 48 hours, the city will have a partly cloudy sky, with light to moderate rains or thundershowers  towards evening or night. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 39ºC and 26ºC respectively.
