The Indian Meteorological Department said the mercury could cross 45 degrees Celsius in May .
On Tuesday , the local weather office, refreshed its heatwave warning for the state.In its warning, it said: “Heatwave conditions very likely to prevail at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana and the maximum temperatures is likely to be above normal by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius and is
likely to be above 42 degrees Celsius at isolated places in North Telangana and above 40 degrees Celsius at many places for next two days.
This prediction comes a day after the city's mercury levels trumped the 10-year old maximum temperature record of 43 degrees Celsius.Even the pre-monsoon showers which could have brought down the temperatures in the city have largely remained absent.
