The mercury rose to 43.2 degree Celsius in the city on Wednesday, the highest this year, according to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).
“Due to the dry north and north-westerly winds passing over Telangana, the temperature is rising and it's now three to four degrees more than usual,“ said R V Subba Rao, an independent meteorologist.
The temperature this summer was more than the average temperature and even if it rains, the temperature would not come down significantly,
according to officials.Since 2010, the city has recorded daily temperatures above normal averages through April and May .
The dry and hot winds blowing from central India are also equally responsible for this scorching heat, experts said.“There might be a small dip from tomorrow. However the temperature will not dip by more than two degree Celsius,“ said IMD director YK Reddy.
The highest temperature is recorded between 2 pm and 5 pm, according to Met officials.
