Hyderabad: Truck owner held for overloading vehicle leading to fatal accident

The Shamshabad police on Friday arrested the owner of a truck for allowing overloading of the vehicle, which later resulted in a tyre burst and the death of its driver apart from injuries to two others on the Outer Ring Road on Tuesday.  He was booked for culpable homicide, not amounting to murder, police said.

The arrested person M.Balaram (42), a resident of Attapur in Rajendranagar and a native of Dowlathabad in Vikarabad, allegedly did not



follow proper safety measures for the vehicle and insisted the driver K.Jaipal (30), to overload it with bricks. When the overloaded truck reached near Hameedulla Nagar on the ORR, the backside right tyre burst and the vehicle turned over. Jaipal died on the spot while two passengers survived with minor injuries.

The Shamshabad Rural police booked a case and subsequently arrested Balaram. He was produced before court and remanded in judicial custody.
