The two professors of the University of Hyderabad - Dr KY Ratnam of the political science department and Dr Tathagata Sengupta of the School of Mathematics and Statistics, were served suspension orders on Monday for getting arrested in March this year along with 25 other students.
The University stated that the ones who are detained in police custody for more than 48 hours are deemed suspended by the Central government.

However, on Friday, the University of Hyderabad revoked the suspension of the two professors who had begun a hunger strike and protested at the administration building along with other teachers.
The two professors explained their position to a review committee formed by the Vice-chancellor Prof. Appa Rao and it was recommended that the suspension gets revoked following which the university passed orders.
