The Indian Embassy there said on June 15 that a total of 22 flights were being operated daily by different airlines from Qatar to Kochi, Kozhikode, Thiruvananthapuram, Mumbai, Mangalore, Chennai, Bengaluru, Delhi, Amritsar, Hyderabad, Goa, Kolkata, Nagpur and Ahmedabad, among others.
Union civil aviation minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju had clarified that operating additional flights during Eid should not be seen as `evacuation'. “The diplomatic
standoff continues but we haven't seen anything that suggests a threat to the safety and security of residents. Indians here do not feel the need to leave. Please don't exaggerate and create a sense of panic,“ the embassy said.
Meanwhile, RBI said, “Certain entities are not undertaking exchange of Qatari Riyals in India,“ It had not issued any instructions restricting the exchange of Qatari Riyals in India, it said.
