I-T raids premises of Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy

Khammam: Income Tax (I-T) Department officials on Thursday raided the premises of Telangana Congress leader Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, who is contesting from the Paleru constituency in Khammam district.

Early on Thursday morning, I-T Department officials arrived at the former MP's Khammam home and offices, as he had feared.

Under strict security, the searches, which started at around three in the morning, continued.

Prior to



conducting the searches, IT authorities confiscated the employees' cell phones.

Srinivas Reddy was supposed to submit his nomination on Thursday.

It was in July that Srinivas Reddy joined the Congress after being suspended from the BJP.  Srinivas Reddy, who is also co-chairman of the Congress campaign committee, said the party leaders will have to face difficult times in the next few days.
