Municipal minister KT Rama Rao on Wednesday announced that he would take political sanyas if the ruling TRS did not return to power in 2019 assembly elections.
Addressing a public meeting at Gadwal after launching a number of development works in Jogulamba-Gadwal district on Wednesday, he dared TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy to make a similar announcement. “I will take political sanyas if the TRS did not win the assembly elections scheduled for 2019. Would Uttam Kumar Reddy too take political sanyas if the Congress did not win the polls?”
he asked.
For TRS, the target is clear. To wrest the Gadwal assembly constituency seat from the hands of Congress and unseat former minister DK Aruna. However, a few hours before the meeting, KTR posed for photographs with Aruna at a function.
KTR targeted the Congress for lack of development in the constituency. In this context, he mentioned Bandla Krishna Mohan Reddy, who took great interest in Gadwal’s development despite being defeated in the last elections after contesting on TRS ticket.
