The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad, in its five day-forecast released on Sunday afternoon has issued heat wave alert for few districts and warned of thunderstorms, lightning and heavy winds in other districts of Telangana State for the next two-days.

The heat wave alert, with maximum temperatures hovering between 41 degree Celsius and 44 degree Celsius, has been issued for Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Adilabad, Jagtial, KumaramBheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nizamabad districts.

A warning of thundershowers accompanied with lightning and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) has been issued for Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon districts of Telangana.

The maximum temperatures in the rest of the districts including Hyderabad will continue to hover between 36 degree Celsius and 40 degree Celsius.

to moderate rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana State. Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets and maximum temperatures likely to witness a gradual rise by 2 degree Celsius and 3 degree Celsius, during next 3 days,” the weather bulletin from IMD- Hyderabad, said.

Meanwhile, based on the temperature data from Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS), the average maximum temperatures (between Saturday 8.30 am and Sunday 8.30 am) at a few places in Hyderabad was 40 degree Celsius while temperatures in the rest of the areas I Hyderabad was between 39 degree Celsius and 39.8 degree Celsius.

A maximum temperature of 40.1 degree Celsius was recorded at LB Nagar, followed by 40 degree Celsius at Kapra, Uppal, Hayathnagar and Saroornagar. The temperatures in the rest of the regions of Hyderabad were between 39 degree C and 39.8 degree C, the TSDPS data said.
