IMD issues red alert for Hyderabad

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert, forecasting very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall till Saturday and advised residents to take adequate precautions. Aswaraopeta in Bhadradri-Kothagudem districted recorded the highest rainfall at 116.8 mm by 3 pm, followed by Dammapeta with 97.5 mm. 

In Hyderabad, torrential rains began after 8 pm, causing significant



traffic snarls and road flooding in several areas especially in Kukatpally which recorded 31.8 mm rain, Patancheru (26 mm), and Miyapur (18.3 mm). 

In Jayashankar-Bhupalpally district, Mahadevpur and Mutharam recorded 101.8 mm and 99.5 mm rain, respectively. The IMD has advised residents to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions.
