The city will wake up to a foggy New Year’s day, weather officials said on Friday. The weather alert forecast a yellow alert for foggy conditions in the state on Saturday and for the city until January 2.

The Indian Meteorological Department-Hyderabad (IMD-H) in its daily forecast on Friday predicted reduced visibility in the morning and urging motorists to exercise caution while commuting.

The yellow alert signifies a moderate risk level, urging residents to stay informed and take necessary precautions. Foggy conditions could significantly impact road safety, and authorities are urging commuters to use headlights, maintain safe following distances, and drive at reduced



speed.

Hyderabadis planning to partake in New Year celebrations are advised to plan their travel routes carefully, considering potential delays and hazards caused by the persistent fog.

Local businesses and event organisers were also encouraged to incorporate safety measures and communicate any changes to planned activities.

The IMD predicted fog in isolated pockets in Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medchal Malkajigiri, Medak districts.
