The mercury levels in Hyderabad that slipped to a shivering 10.8 degree Celsius on December 20 saw a gradual rise thereafter — the minimum temperature recorded on Christmas Day was 14 degree Celsius — meteorologists say that its set to fall again from December 26.
According to them, the city’s minimum temperature will remain around 12 degree Celsius up to December 31, with fog and mist likely to cover parts of the city during morning hours. The normal temperature during this time of the year, as per officials, is 15 degree Celsius.
Meteorologists claim that it is comparatively colder this
year. “This can mainly be attributed to low level north easterly winds blowing over the city,” read the daily weather report released by IMD, Hyderabad on Monday.
Although the IMD has not issued a cold wave warning for the next few days, it’s forecast reads that the minimum temperatures will likely be three or four degrees below normal in isolated places over Telangana.
As per IMD data, the minimum temperature in Adilabad rose to 9 degree Celsius on Monday, days after it broke all time record on December 19 by registering a minimum temperature of 3.8 degree Celsius.
