According to Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Hyderabad, the cloud cover was due to formation of cumulonimbus clouds ­ rain bearing clouds. “The eastern and southern parts of the city were covered with cumulonimbus clouds during the morning hours, which led to a drop in mercury levels. Areas such as Rajendranagar received 22 mm of rain.

The cloud cover is expected to be there for the next 48 hours,“ said Y K Reddy , director (incharge) of IMD Hyderabad.While the sudden showers brought much relief to residents in some parts



of the city , others rued how it resulted in traffic snarls during peak hours. “Horrible traffic managemen today (on Wednesday) in Hyderabad. 

According to a warning issued by the IMD, Hyderabad office, the state is likely to receive s more rainfall over the next 2-3 days. “Heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana.s Thunderstorm very likely to occur at isolated placed in all the districts of Telangana,“ a statement released by the IMD read.
