Meteorologists claim that the mercury levels will fall again soon, as the monsoon activity in the Hyderabad city is expected to increase over the weekend. “Currently, the monsoon circulation is weak across the state. From June 22, the circulation will revive as all districts in Telangana will receive light to moderate rainfall,” said Raja Rao, meteorologist at IMD, Hyderabad.
Meanwhile, overcast skies accompanied with light showers in isolated areas in the city brought relief to people especially in areas such as Gachibowli, Madhapur, Film Nagar, Banjara Hills, Panjagutta on
Sunday. A few pockets in districts such as Warangal, Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthy, Komarabheem, Mahbubabad, Vikarabad, Nizamabad also received light rainfall.
Weathermen attributed the current weather conditions to upper cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal adjoining south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coast and a trough extending from Odisha to south interior Karnataka across Telangana.
The IMD has issued a warning, predicting thunderstorms with gusty winds, for all districts from June 18-20.
