Hyderabad: The traffic police have booked over 24,000 drivers in cases of triple riding and over 1.30 lakh in cases of wrong side driving. In addition, 3892 buses belonging to the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) and 5806 heavy vehicles were taken into custody by the authorities for a variety of infractions, including overspeeding, free left obstruction, and not stopping in bus bays.

The crackdown is part of a special campaign launched by the Hyderabad Traffic Police (HTP) to combat various traffic violations in Hyderabad. According to a press release issued by the Hyderabad police on



Saturday, a total of 24,658 individuals have been booked for triple riding alone since the beginning of January. Another 1,30,311 individuals have been booked for wrong side driving during the same time period.

"To carry out the actions outlined in 4 E's Traffic Management, namely, a plan of action has been adopted," Enablement, Education, Enforcement, and Engineering," the release added. On September 15 of the previous year, the Hyderabad Traffic Police launched its "ROPE" operation in response to the same. Since then, 2,01,377 people have been arrested for stop line violations and 32064 for blocking free left turns.
