Income Tax (IT) officials on Friday conducted raids on the properties belonging to Buyyani Manohar Reddy, Congress candidate for the Tandur Assembly seat, and his kin in Tandur and Kondapur.

It was around 6 am on Friday that IT teams arrived at the Radical Bio-Organics Limited (RBL) factory located at Jakkepalli of Yalal in Vikarabad and RBL's head office at Kondapur in the city.

The RBL factory belongs to B. Srinivas Reddy, brother of Manohar Reddy. They verified bank statements and passbooks, regular money transactions, and Income Tax Returns (ITRs) for the last few years.

The

officials suspect that Srinivas Reddy was allegedly making cash transactions for his brother’s elections in Tandur.  They sought purchase details of different materials, invoices, and the factory’s recent money transactions and digital payments.

The officials allegedly questioned Srinivas Reddy and his staff in connection with the cash transactions and those involving RBL directors.

Srinivas Reddy is also a director of another firm — SVR Bio Private Limited, located at Chandanagar in the city. His wife Sarala Buyyani is the managing director of RBL.
