Low-cost carrier IndiGo is starting nonstop daily flights between Hyderabad and Bhopal from January 5. The first direct flight to Bhopal will take off from Hyderabad at 7.15 am that day.

Bookings have already begun on online ticketing sites such as MakeMyTrip and Cleartrip with the fare starting at Rs 1,999. Passengers can also avail this offer by booking their tickets through IndiGo’s official website www.goindigo.in.

Earlier, there were no direct flights to Bhopal and passengers had to look for different connecting flights, thus taking a long time to reach their destination. The nonstop daily flights to be offered by IndiGo is expected to bring the travel time down to 1.5 hours.

According to Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) officials, the Hyderabad Airport makes flying to Bhopal

easier with daily direct flights. “With 45 domestic destinations across the country, we aim at bringing India closer”, tweeted RGIA. Officials also said this would help tourism in both Madhya Pradesh and Telangana.

On the other hand, IndiGo is launching services between Jabalpur-Hyderabad as well from January 5. The same price being offered for the Bhopal flight will be applicable to these flights as well.

On no-stop flights to Jabalpur, IndiGo tweeted “Go take a dip in history as we introduce our 65th destination, Jabalpur with non-stop flight from Hyderabad. With this new destination, we hope customers fly newer skies”.

IndiGo will also operate its fourth daily flight between Hyderabad and Tirupathi with effect from January 5.
