Justice Juvvadi Sridevi of the Telangana High Court on Friday granted an interim stay on teachers transfers in Rangareddy district.

A lunch motion petition was filed by S. Gopi Krishna, school assistant, and four others, seeking a direction to the respondent authorities not to effect transfers to school assistants/secondary grade teachers in Rangareddy district till the seniority lists were finalised.

The petitioners submitted that the director of school education issued a revised schedule for transfers and promotions. In pursuance of the same, the district authorities issued provisional

seniority lists and completed further process. However, only a day’s time was given to submit objections and explanations on the seniority list, which was contrary to the rules, the petitioners argued.

They also complained that the website was not open to submit grievances and there is no cell to submit written objections. Not considering the same, the authorities were going ahead in effecting transfers based on the seniority lists published by including the teachers who were transferred from other districts to RR district in total violation of the Presidential Order.
