The much awaited annual International Kite and Sweet Festivals coinciding with the Sankranti, will be held at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad between January 13 and 15, said Secretary, Tourism and Culture, Burra Venkatesham here on Monday.
The second edition of International Sweet Festival will be bigger and better than last year. “Representatives from 20 different countries are set to showcase their local sweet delicacies in the festival. We are expecting close to 10 lakh visitors during the three-day festival,” Venkatesham said.
In a review meeting with Tourism and
Culture officials, Venkatesham said that all out efforts would be taken up to ensure smooth conduct of the three-day festival. Representatives from different countries who are expected to take part in the sweet festival also participated in the review meeting.
Last year, close to 8 lakh people took part in the three-day Kites and Sweets Festival at Parade Grounds, he said. The International Sweet Festival will feature over 1,000 sweets in the mammoth inter-State sweet festival where the most popular delicacies from each State will be offered in various varieties.
