Hyderabad: The fifth edition of major pharmaceutical exhibition Iphex 2017 has begun in Hyderabad on Thursday. The event has attracted over 570 overseas buyers, 50 drug regulators and more than 270 exhibitors.
The event was inaugurated by KT Rama Rao, Minister for Industries, Government of Telangana and Agyeman Manu Kwaku, Minister of Health, Ghana.
Kwaku said, India is a long term preferred partner for pharma supplies to Africa and Ghana invites the Indian pharma industry to set up manufacturing units in Ghana and offer quality medicines at affordable costs.

(Pharmexcil) chairman Madan Mohan Reddy, said, Iphex 2017 will help Indian pharma industry showcase its vast expertise in bulk drugs, formulations, intermediates, nutraceuticals, veterinary drugs, biological and ayush products to overseas buyers who have come from 100 countries.
India has significant presence in advanced regulatory markets such as the US, Europe and Japan and the regulatory lounge created as part of the event will help companies get access to drug regulators and will be benefited by on the spot advisory services to Indian exporters on how to do business in respective countries, said, Ravi Uday Bhaskar, director general of Pharmexcil.
