Iranian President Hassan Rouhani accorded warm welcome on his arrival in Hyderabad

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani was accorded a ceremonial welcome on his arrival at Begumpet Airport in Hyderabad Thursday evening. 

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan and Union Minister of State for Home Hansraj Gangaram Ahir were among a host of dignitaries who attended the Ceremonial reception.Senior officials from the External Affairs Ministry were also present. The visiting president will be interacting with religious leaders Thursday



evening. 

Mr Rouhani will address people and community leaders at Makkah Masjid on Friday after visiting some of the historic and heritage places in Hyderabad, such as Golconda Fort and Qutub Shahi Tomb. 

He will be meeting the Iranian Community living in Hyderabad before leaving for Delhi Friday evening. 

It may be recalled that Iran and the then Hyderabad Princely state had shared traditional, architectural and cultural relations.
