To promote handlooms and encourage the IT workforce in Hyderabad to wear such clothes every Monday, Facility Management Council (FMC) is organising a three-day ‘IT Handloom Mela’ at DLF Building, here, from April 25.

The Mela is expected to attract 35,000 IT employees, who are employed in and around Gachibowli and Madhapur region. During the three days, the organisers are expecting to make sales to the tune of Rs 20 lakh. The



exhibition will have stalls showcasing Gadwal, Pochampally, Siddipet, Ikkat Pattu Sarees, handicraft products, handloom kurtas and many more.

FMC is collaborating with Government of Telangana to encourage handlooms with a long term plan to cover all the IT Parks in the city.“There are 400 IT and ITes companies in the city and more than four lakh employees work in them.
