The Telangana Government is embarking on an ambitious project to construct a 16-storeyed IT Tower at a cost of Rs 1,032 crores at Malakpet in Hyderabad. Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corpration (TSIIC) on Friday invited tenders to take up this mammoth project in joint venture. The TSIIC proposes to build the massive tower in an area of 20 lakh square feet spread across 10 acres of land in Malakpet.
The 16-storeyed edifice will be the first major structure of its kind since the formation of a separate Telangana state. And more significantly, this is also the first major IT-based infrastructure project
coming up in the Old City of Hyderabad. All the IT infrastructure projects that were taken up after the formation of a separate Telangana State were constructed in and around the Hitech City area. In an attempt to promote information technology activity beyond the IT hub and also in the Old City, the TRS government has zeroed in on Malakpet for the proposed 16-storyed IT Tower.
Under the IT and ITES services, components include construction of plug and play offices, business centres and offices. Under the non-IT and ITES services, the space can be used for construction of residential, commercial and hospitality purposes.
