Nizamabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that religious reservations will be abolished and they will, instead, be provided to members of the SC, ST and OBC communities in Telangana state. The BRS government provided four per cent reservations for minorities, which it assured to enhance to 12 per cent, but BJP is against reservations on a religious basis, he said.

The BRS symbol is a car and though its steering is in the hands of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, it is being driven by AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi, he said, speaking at a Sakala Janula Vijaya Sankalpa Sabha in Armoor on Friday.

Shah said that the BRS government was involved in various corruption activities, including the Kaleshwaram project, Miyapur land and ORR scams, while party MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha was involved in the Delhi liquor scam.

"After BJP comes to power here, we will initiate action against the guilty," he said while adding that the CAG audit had found anomalies in Chevella and Mission Bhagiratha, among several others.
It is time to remove Rao and pave the way for

the state’s real development, he said.

Once BJP comes to power in the state, it would change the GST structure and give price relief in petrol and diesel in the first cabinet meeting, he assured. The Union minister said that question papers of TSPSC were leaked six times and the culprits would be punished severely.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is trying to make India the number one in the world and Telangana state can be the country’s top state only under a BJP rule, he said.

In Congress and BRS governments, ministerial berths will be given based on the amount paid by the contenders, but BJP recognises the services of its leaders and rewards them, he said.

Shah said that the BJP had sanctioned the Telangana turmeric board as assured by it. He also said that the problems of beedi workers and Gulf migrants will all be sorted out.

BJP candidates Dharmapuri Arvind (Korutla), A. Annapurna (Balkonda) and P. Rakesh Reddy (Armoor) were present on the occasion.
