IT Minister KTR inaugurates 19th BioAsia conference in Hyderabad

BioAsia Summit 2022, the annual flagship event of the life sciences industry began in Hyderabad yesterday. About 50 celebrities from various organizations, including Bill Gates, will address the conference. Telangana IT and Industries Minister K. Taraka Ramarao has inaugurated the 19th edition of BioAsia conference. 

He said Hyderabad plays a vital role in life sciences across the country and worldwide. BioAsia will discuss many topics related to Life Sciences - Covid challenges in the health sector for the next two days.

Mr. Rao said Telangana attracted investments of over 6 thousand 400 crore rupees in the life sciences



sector from around 215 enterprises during the past year. He added that these investments resulted in more than 34 thousand new jobs. He further said the investment in 2021 is over 200 percent higher than the investment in the previous year and this will demonstrate the growing importance of Hyderabad's life science ecosystem.

The Minister said Genome Valley stands as the backbone for developing the life sciences sector in the state. About 50 celebrities from various organizations, including Bill Gates, WHO scientist Soumya Swaminathan and NITI Aayog CEO Amitabh Kant will address the conference.
