Jeevan Reddy addressed a letter to the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in this regard here on Wednesday. In his letter, he alleged that it was unfortunate that the Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao was creating panic among the farmers by spreading misinformation that G.O.No.123 was better than the Land Acquisition Act 2013 in providing compensation for the land losers.
Reminding
that the then Central government prepared a Land Acquisition Act 2013 in place
of Land Acquisition Act 1894 and same was implementing with the consent
of
State governments since 2014. According to Land Acquisition Act 2013, the
government has to give compensation to the farmers 1½ more to the market value
of the land and after that the government has to give 100% solacium also. Then
the government has to pay Rs 6 lakh plus Rs 3 lakh and 100% solecium becomes Rs
9 lakh plus Rs 9 lakh becomes Rs 18 lakh per acre.
The government has to pay Rs 18 lakh to the farmers losing land in the Mallannasagar project, Jeevan Reddy said. He said that the then Congress Central government prepared Land Acquisition Act-2013 to see that the farmers not to affect with the land acquisition. The government has to acquire land only after upgrading the land registration value as per market value following the Land Acquisition Act-2013 Section 26. The government has to pay compensation and it has to look after the re-settlement and rehabilitation of the farmers lose their land, he said. He demanded the state government to pay the compensation implementing Land Acquisition Act 2013 Section-26 to the farmers losing their land.
