The Supreme Court Collegium on Friday recommended the transfer of Justice P. Sam Koshy, additional judge at the Chhattisgarh High Court, to the Telangana High Court. The collegium held that the appointment of Justice Koshy to the Telangana High Court "would enrich the composition of that high court."
The collegium said that Justice Koshy had requested that he be transferred to any High Court other than the one in Madhya Pradesh.
Before his appointment to the Chhattisgarh High Court, Justice Koshy practised civil, constitutional and service and labour
matters in the High Court of Madhya Pradesh at Jabalpur till 2000 and at the High Court of Chhattisgarh at Bilaspur from 2000 till 2013. Subsequently, he was appointed an additional judge to the High Court of Chhattisgarh in 2013. He was a government advocate at the High Court of Chhattisgarh from 2002 to 2004.
Born on April 30, 1967, Justice Koshy did his bachelor's degree in commerce from GS College, Jabalpur, and a law degree from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur and enrolled as an advocate on March 9, 1991.
