Justice Satish Chandra Sharma has been sworn in as the new Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court. Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan administered the oath of office to Justice Satish Chandra Sharma at a ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, Ministers, Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar, attended the event and congratulated the new Chief Justice of Telangana High Court.
Justice Satish Chandra Sharma will be the fourth Chief Justice of Telangana High Court which came into being on January 1, 2019. While Justice TB Radhakrishnan was the first Chief Justice of Telangana High Court,
he was succeeded by Justice RS Chouhan and Justice Hima Kohli in the post. The Centre issued a gazette notification on appointment of Justice Satish Chandra Sharma following the approval from President Ram Nath Kovind.
Following the appointment of Justice Hima Kohli as a Supreme Court Judge on August 31, Justice MSR Ramachandra Rao took over the post on a temporary basis. Following his recent transfer to the Punjab-Haryana High Court, Justice Satish Chandra Sharma who was serving as the interim Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, has been appointed as the new Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.
